Why a Women’s Networking Group?
The Women’s Networking Group was started to give women in our area a place to meet, connect and build relationships to help support each other in their business endeavors. Our first meeting was in May of this year. Over 25 Women met and started the process of getting to know each other. Our mission at the start was business focused and the group has evolved to include women in our area that are retired, women in transition with their employment and women looking for a more meaningful connection to their community.
So what is networking? In the most formal sense, Webster defines network or networking as: an association of individuals having a common interest, formed to provide mutual assistance, helpful information, or the like: Most of us informally network every day, we share and recommend a new restaurant, we talk with our friends about a movie we saw, every day we share and recommend different products and services. There is a direct positive correlation between the recommendation and how much we know and trust the person doing the recommending. The more we trust the person and like them the more serious we will take the recommendation. Who do you know? Who do you want to get to know? How can you mutually support each other with recommendations and referrals for your business or other common interests? It all starts with building those relationships and the Women’s Networking Group of Northern Cass County is helping to facilitate those relationships.
We meet once a month with networking time and an educational presentation. If you are interested and want to learn more, please contact Lynnette Dirks at lynnette1959@hotmail.com.
