Responsible for working on community outreach with employees, employers, housing, childcare and transportation.
Executive Committee: Composed of the Past President, President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer from the Board of Directors.
Retail Committee:
Comes together for the purpose of discussing problems or issues, which affect them. It also provides an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, education, cooperation, and social interchange.
Accommodations Committee:
Meets to discuss problems or issues, which affect the resorts and lodging industry. It also provides an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, education, cooperation, and social interchange.
Membership Committee:
Composed of at least three Chamber of Commerce members, responsible for welcoming potential members, encouraging new members, and maintaining current members.
Internet Committee:
This committee manages the Chamber’s website, on-line connections to members, and other office technology.
Destination Guide Committee:
This committee works together to create our annual publication that advertises the area and its Chamber members.
North Country Buyer’s Show Committee:
The Distributor Show provides a forum for vendors to educate local businesses and to display and sell their wares. The Show is typically held in the spring in order for resorts and businesses to see what’s new and available for resorts, boating, retail, and food merchandising.
Ethnic Fest Committee:
A celebration of America’s numerous heritages, Ethnic Fest is one of Walker’s largest festival attractions. This committee organizes this festival and keeps it running from year to year.
Festival of Lights Committee:
Kicking off the Christmas season, this event offers many fun activities for families; all day shopping, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and an evening parade filled with thousands of lights.
Leech Lake Walleye Tournament:
Responsible for the largest Walleye Tournament on Leech Lake. Supports the Leech Lake Area Non Profits.
Advertising Committee:
Responsible for designing advertising strategies, allocating advertising funds, and evaluating advertising impact.
Education Committee:
Responsible for putting together a fall event of learning and networking for chamber members.
