Walker’s Community Giving Tree
This year, the Community Giving Tree at the Festival of Lights event comes to us from the beautiful Chippewa National Forest—it’s a majestic fir tree! Returning for another year, the tree will be on display in front of Village Square, adorned with paper mittens and stockings filled with wishes. Each mitten, provided by teachers from the WHA School, lists essential classroom items needed by local students. The stockings feature wishes from senior citizens in the area, with items that can be purchased for under $10.
The mittens and stockings will be hung on the tree by Friday, November 29th. As a thank you for participating, there will be candy canes on the tree for everyone who takes a mitten or stocking. This is an easy and meaningful way to spread some holiday cheer by helping those in our community.
Please bring your wrapped gifts to the Chamber of Commerce by December 14th, and we’ll ensure they are delivered. Thank you for your generosity in making this holiday season brighter for our neighbors!
A special thank you to the Stolzman family for generously cutting down this year’s Community Giving Tree and continuing the tradition!
