Walker City Public Library – Donations accepted
Help in the construction of the new public library
By Joe Sherman and Kathi Cadmus
Much progress is being made on the exterior and interior design of the new public library in Walker. The location of the new library will be on the south side of Tower Ave. adjacent to the City of Walker’s twin water towers. The Friends of the Walker Public Library request that you donate to the construction of the new Dale and Harriet Jones Walker Public Library that is slated to begin construction in 2023. Contributions can be made for 2022 and beyond.
As you are aware you may offset the taxability of your Required Minimum Distribution by doing a Qualified Charitable Distribution directly from your IRA to a non-profit of your choice. Any portion of your IRA that you donate from your Required Minimum Distribution will be tax free to you and the organization you send it to.
In considering donating to the Dale and Harriet Jones Walker Public Library your contact would be Kathi Cadmus, President of the Friends of the Walker Library, 218-547-6444, or donate directly to the City of Walker, designated Library Building Fund, Hope Fairchild, Walker City Administrator, 218-547-5501. Either can send you the detailed info on the progress of the new library. Many naming rights are still available for those donations that qualify.
