The Walker Area Pregnancy Support Center – Member of the week
The Walker Area Pregnancy Support Center (WAPSC) is a 501©3 non-profit Charity.
We are an Affiliate of Care Net International.
We exist solely on local grants and private donations. We are proud to have been in this Community now for almost 10 years (February 2020).
All of our services are free and confidential and include: Pregnancy testing and medically accurate information on pregnancy, abortion and adoption. We offer an educational program where moms and dads, as well as grandparents can participate to earn necessary baby items such as cribs, strollers, car seats, diapers etc. We have free maternity and baby clothing, Baby Welcome Baskets for new moms, and offer ‘Life Skills Mentoring’ for moms, dads, and blended families.
We seek to work with other Community Help Programs to gather the resources necessary and supply structure and encouragement for finishing high school, working through the social services process, obtaining drivers licenses, applying for college, job skills, applying for work, and the child care process, as well as personal growth and maturity.
When women and men come to us they find a safe place to share their hurt and pain, and are heard and cared for as they make some of the most important decisions of their life.
Our goal is to be a caring confidential place where our clients can work through their overwhelming feelings so that they can slow down and make life decisions based on fact rather than emotion and fear. Relationship is important to us and we want to continue to walk with our Clients as they work toward self-esteem and positive outcomes for all involved.
Anyone is welcome to come tour our Center located across the street from the Holiday Gas Station in a big blue house. Come meet our Staff and Volunteers and learn more about the Services we offer.
