Oak Point Resort’s Samantha Nupson places at State Speech
In 2016, Samantha placed 4th @ State, and 3rd place in 2017. This year, she secured first place in all 10 speech meets in her category, Extemporaneous Reading from the book The Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury. She placed first at the Walker meet in the new category POI (program , oral, interpretation–a memorized speech that she put together on military wives and the things they endure and champion). She just missed making the final round by 1 point in her POI for Nationals. For Extemp Reading, she placed first in the sub section and section meet. At the state meet, she placed 1st in all 3 preliminary rounds and in the final round choosing a reading that meant the most to her, remaining true to her character in her love for a more serious reading, she placed 3rd. We are so proud of her accomplishments in her high school years and the enthusiasm she shared with her competitors always with encouraging words and support for all. She has a great future ahead.
She also excels in classical piano. She will be performing her senior piano recital at Calvary Lutheran Church, Bemidji, May 20th @ 2 p,m, All are welcome.
