We Need A Little Christmas

Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks, and we could not be more thankful for our business community and continued local support in Walker! We could not have survived 2020 without you, our Chamber members, and our local residents.

The coziness of this time of the year only gets better as we kick off the holidays the weekend after the big turkey dinner! This year, we need a little Christmas in the Leech Lake area, and everywhere, a little bit more than ever.

Begin the official Christmas shopping season with local gifts on Small Business Saturday, November 28. Yes, the headlines are talking about how much more everyone is shopping online this year for the obvious reasons. But you, our Walker community, have kept our local retail alive this year. Not only are you keeping Walker’s business community alive. You’re finding great local gifts, picked just for your loved ones, from Walker, MN that can’t be found anywhere else. And besides… we hear there may be some great Small Business Saturday deals going on around town from our Chamber members. Explore our business directory before heading out!

Through December, we’re also doing our “Great Gift Card Giveaway!” Check out any of our sponsored businesses and spend at least $10 to get your ticket. You get a ticket for each $10 spent and can receive up to 40 tickets per transaction. You must be 18 years old or older to win prizes.

Want to enter one ticket without making a purchase? Easy. Just send a self-addressed stamped envelope to us! Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 1089, Walker, MN 56484.

The Leech Lake Chamber will pick up tickets at our participating businesses in early January, and we’ll draw a winner at our office! The grand-prize winner will receive $1,000 in gift cards, and we’ll award many other fun prize packages too. Do you own or work at one of our sponsored businesses? You can win too! Your ticket just can’t be in a sequence that has been issued to your business/employer. You can also get credit from the store where you work if the store manager simply signs the receipt to give to the Chamber along with the tickets.
