Ice and Fishing Report – December 22, 2021

Main Lake – currently we are seeing 10-13 inches of ice in the Grand View flats area, the vicinity of Goose Island and to the north into Sucker Bay. Snow amounts on top of the ice are minimal currently as most of our snow has blown off the lake. We have not traveled or checked conditions east of actual Pine Point into the Traders Bay area or areas beyond so we can not report on conditions at this time. Snowmobile or ATV/UTV traffic is still advised.
Walker Bay – most areas of the bay have 5-8 inches of ice with a few reports of more ice on the north end in the Sand Point area. There is a small crack that has developed on a line from Chase on the Lake over to the east shoreline that seems to be changing daily so please be advised. At this time we recommend walking, small ATV or snowmobile traffic only and to check ice as you go as it can change rapidly.
Early fishing reports so far have been very good with a nice mixed bag of results for anglers chasing all species. We will have more to report after Christmas and will update as always with the changing conditions.
