With the start of they yearly bug hatches on the lake the fish have spread out and leeches and night crawlers are now the bait of choice. Staying on the move with a spinner rig and night crawler or a crankbait is an effective way to find fish. Once fish have been located switching to a live bait rig tipped with either a leech or a night crawler has been a good way to put fish in the boat. Look to windblown transition areas from sand to rocks to be holding the a fair number of fish right now. The areas around Submarine Island, North Bar, and Goose Island are good places to start your search.
