Fishing Report January 30, 2023

Here is your weekly updated fishing report from Leech Lake Fish House Rentals

Main Lake – ice conditions on the lake are still sitting in the 15-18 inch range in most areas.  Snow and drifting snow is still making travel off of plowed roads difficult.  Resorts that have plowed roads right now include Trappers Landing, Horseshoe Bay Resort, Acorn Hill Resort and Andersons Pine Point resort.  Contact them or follow on social media for updated road conditions and maps.

Perch have been cooperating very well in the Goose Island area out of Andersons Pine Point Resort over the past week with many reports of coming in of consistent action in the Snake Pits and Grand View Flats areas in 13-15ft.  Walleye reports are limited with most catches coming in the evening or overnight hours on dead sticks with a fathead or shiner minnow.  Northern Pike in these areas have also been plentiful during the day, however most being caught are in the protected slot of 22-26″ range.  A few bonus Eelpout are still being caught in the overnight hours as well.

Walker Bay – ice conditions in the bay continue to improve day by day.  Most areas areas are seeing a consistent 16-20″ of ice.  Snow amounts have settled nicely and off road traffic is possible in most areas.  The best walleye bite sounds to be in the Sand Point and Cedar Point areas along edges of deeper water in 16-20ft.  A decent perch bite still exits in the shallower flats areas of Sand point in the 10-12ft depths in the sand to sand grass transition areas.  A few Eelpout are being caught along the sharp breaklines of Cedar Point and Breezy point as well.

We still have a few rentals available for the upcoming weekend.  Send us a message or give us a call for availability.  218-820-3640.
