Steve Nosbisch Fishing Guide
Despite the recent weather changes the fishing has remained steady on Leech Lake. Some days are better then others, but there are plenty of fish to be caught.
Look to the north end of Walker Bay to produce perch throughout the day and walleyes during low light periods. If you are catching perch during the day walleyes will likely be behind them later in the evening. Look to the humps on the south side of Leech Lake to be producing walleyes and the occasional eelpout.
The active fish have been coming mainly on jigging spoons. Jigging spoons that resemble perch, gold, and green have been producing consistently. When the fish become more sluggish a simple red, green, or white plain hook 6”-12” off bottom tipped with a rainbow continues to produce fish.
