Overall, we had a pretty solid week on Leech Lake.. We are currently still operating out of Anderson’s Pine Point Resort where we have multiple plowed ice roads leading out in multiple areas.  We’ve found a way to get north of Goose Island all the way up in to the Little and Big Hardwood area which has greatly expanded our territory.  Ice conditions have improved improved this week with most areas now measuring at 13-16 inches off the plowed roads. Our ice roads are currently holding 18+ inches of ice.

For Walker Bay, we have found anywhere from 8 to 13 inches of ice so please use extreme caution into new areas. Please travel at your own risk and check ice as you go. As far as fishing, Cedar Point and Sand Point have still your best bet for Walleyes and Perch using Rainbows, Golden Shiners and Fatheads. Bottom transition areas of sand to sand grass have been the best areas in 10-12 or 16-20ft.

On the main lake, the Pine Point / Goose Island area in 11-13 ft close to deeper water has been the best bet for jumbo perch and a walleye or two during morning and evening primetime hours. Big Rock Reef in 14-18ft or the Paris trench area in 22-26ft out of Horseshoe Bay have been producing Walleyes during the overnight hours.

We still have a few openings for day or sleeper houses for the rest of the month of January and February.  Give us a call at 218-820-3640 to book your next outing!
