Family Friendly and fun festival Walker Bay Days – Pilot Independent
The family-friendly and fun festival Walker Bay Day will return to Walker City Park Saturday
Sponsored by the Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the mission of the event is to celebrate family values, community pride and commitment to the preservations of the Leech Lake area, its bountiful natural resources and cultural history.
The day will begin with a 5K Run/Walk. The run is followed by a full day of fun and excitement for the whole family. In the past there have been many activities from volleyball tournaments, sandcastle building tournaments, kids inflatables, craft fair, pow wow exhibition, and bingo. The sandcastle building contest begins the week of the event and will pay $50 in Chamber Bucks to the best entry.
The Big Dig will give children the opportunity to play in piles of sand while winning prizes, possibly even a bike.
There will also be raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Tickets are available at the Leech Lake Chamber of Commerce or in the park the day of the event. Food and beverages will be available throughout the day. Admission is free.
