Best Things to Do in Walker in October
Paint Pumpkins with the Traveling Art Pub
The Traveling Art Pub, Inc. (TAP) is a creative events company that offers hands-on guided DIY art events at local destinations and our boutique studios.
TAP is a way to explore your creative side, and celebrate local community through art, culture, food and friendship.
These instructor-led events offer our guests a unique time eat, drink, create and socialize. Each event showcases an original inspiration art piece, in which our artist will guide the guests step-by-step to re-create their original!
While TAP hosts events throughout the Leech Lake area all month long, we felt that painting pumpkins was particularly perfect for October!

Break Free from an Escape Room
Evergreen Gifts & Fun Park offers the opportunity to test your teamwork, wits, and performance under pressure with their unique and creative escape rooms. Based on real-life events, locations, and situations, the escape rooms at Evergreen let you relive a moment in history as you work to break free. You can choose from such scenarios as breaking free from a World War II-era secret bunker, escaping a old-time jail set in historic Park Rapids, or a Cold War-era inspired race against the clock — and the Russians.
If an escape room experience sounds a little too stressful, don’t worry! There are plenty of other fun activities for all ages at Evergreen. Try your hand at Mineral Mining, sneak through the Laser Maze, jump around in the Super Bounce House, or take on the opposing team in outdoor Laser Tag.
And that’s just a few of the family-friendly activities offered at Evergreen — visit their website for more information. Be sure to call ahead to book your activities ahead of time!
