Enjoy Live Music
Portage Brewing Company has live music on October 13 to continue the festivities. Drew Peterson and Mandy Fassett will perform from 5:30-8:30 PM. Peterson is an American singer-songwriter who fronted the Minnesota-based Forty Watt Bulb group. Now he works on two Roots projects – the twangy Dead Pigeons and the bluegrass-style Boxstore Bird. For Boxstore Bird, he joins forces with Fassett who is multi-talented on the fiddle, cello and mandolin. Enjoy this talented duo while sipping one of the many on-tap beers Portage offers. Whether made locally at Portage’s brewery or coming from afar, the beer, and music, is sure to satisfy.
Explore the Arts
Two more events make the Leech Lake area a great place for the arts. Tattoo You Minnesota presents a Tattoo Convention October 19-21 at Northern Lights Casino and Events Center. Tickets for all three days are $20 each, and a Sunday ticket is $10. The convention begins at 9am on Friday.
For those into painting, the Leech Lake Art League continues every Thursday from 9am – 2pm, providing painting critique to members and visitors. Other kinds of art are also welcome for critique.
October is full of activities to enjoy. Whether you’re sipping a beer, enjoying live music or exploring the arts, the Leech Lake area has a calendar full of entertaining events.
