Make a donation towards Festival of Lights! Help light up Walker!
This year, the Community Giving Tree at the Festival of Lights event will be displayed outside Village Square Pizza & Ice Cream Parlor, featuring mittens and stockings with wishes from local students and senior citizens. The mittens, provided by WHA Walker Hackensack Akeley Public Schools teachers, list essential classroom items needed by students, while the stockings contain affordable gift suggestions for seniors, all under $10. The tree will be decorated by November 29th, and candy canes will be available for those who choose a mitten or stocking. Wrapped gifts should be returned to the Chamber of Commerce by December 9th for delivery. This initiative offers a meaningful way to support the community during the holiday season.
Fill the Festival of Lights Fish house with toys! Looking for donations of new toys or monetary donations for First National Bank’s Annual Toys for Kids. Our goal is to have the fish house full by the end of the weekend. Your help will make someone’s Christmas brighter.
This year, the Festival of Lights is hosting a donation drive for the local food shelf. During the Reindeer Ramble, participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations to help families in need this winter. The event is a fun way to enjoy the holiday season while giving back.
Additionally, the Kids Santa Party invites families to drop off food donations while enjoying crafts, games, and meeting Santa. Donation bins will be available for easy drop-off.
All contributions will be delivered to the local food shelf, ensuring they reach those who need them most. Join the festivities, make a donation, and help brighten the holidays for our community!
