Chippewa National Forest Programs
Hello from the Chippewa National Forest! Summer naturalist programs have started up at both Cut Foot Sioux Visitor Center (north of Deer River) and Norway Beach Visitor Center (east of Cass Lake). Naturalist Susan Short will be leading programs and hikes on Wednesdays at Cut Foot Sioux VIC and on Saturdays at Norway Beach VIC. Programs are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at both sites.
Norway Beach is open Wednesday through Sunday, and Cut Foot will be open Wednesday through Saturday. We may be adding Sunday to that schedule soon as well! Even on non-program days, we love to welcome visitors to our sites—we have some great hands-on displays for families, and always rainy day activities out for the kids! Norway Beach is always a great stop—just to take in that beautiful historic log lodge and take in the fireplace. (Built by Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938….gorgeous!)
We will be adding programs to the schedule as we get in to July! Thanks for helping us get the word out and we hope to see you at the Visitor Centers! If you have any questions or need more information, please give me a call either at my office or at the Visitor Center! Have a great summer…. Mary
