Working Together Coalition is Member of the Week!

The Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce presents the Working Together Coalition as the Member of The Week! Each week a new business will be featured as a “thank you” for being a part of our membership. Our mission is Working Together to prevent substance use by our youth through community collaboration, resulting in an improved quality of life. In turn, we would like to raise public awareness of the risks and consequences of the use of substances as well as things that the community can do to help our young people make healthy decisions. By making changes to the environment, we envision having a safe and healthy community, free of the impact of substance abuse and its negative effects. 

Coalition Director Kelly Felton was recently quoted for saying: “When we used to go out and talk about substance use among youth, we got some pushback because of our social norms.. But we’re able to go out now and say ‘It’s not about the drinking, it’s the consequences that come along with it and what our kids need to succeed'”
