SPRING JOB FAIR

Here is a golden opportunity to find a job, part-time to full-time or seasonal.  How about a new career in Walker, Hackensack or Akeley area?  Summer work, to put away some extra money?  We have a one stop shop for this.

The Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Walker Rotary invite you to come to the Spring Job Fair on Friday April 15 and Saturday April 16.  Times will be Friday @ 10 am – 2 pm and Saturday @ noon -4 pm.  This will be held at BlueWater Lodge on Leech Lake, just 3 miles south of Walker.   BlueWater Lodge address is 7051 Wintergreen Trail NW, Walker, MN.

There are over 40 area businesses offering jobs covering a multitude of qualifications.  There is clerical, manufacturing, sales, financial, MIS, skilled, unskilled, service, management, restaurant, and construction and trainee programs.  All ages and interests are welcome.

Over the past few years we’ve noticed many businesses unable to fulfill their job requirements and at the same time we have heard people comment “I can’t find a decent job out there”.  We have decided to try and bring these two groups together.

The Walker Rotary is known for assisting youth particularly thru our school system with many programs and financial support.  The chamber generally helps businesses communicate with the public.  Together this is a GREAT partnership as we are not only helping youth and businesses, but also senior citizens and people who are seeking full-time, part-time, seasonal, or year round employment.

Our community is enjoying a growth in people moving to the area who have recently retired from positions of ownership and management who still want and need to contribute to society and possess a strong desire for employment and self-enrichment that comes from personal contact and contributions to their community.
