New Member Welcome – BYOBookkeeper
Joan Kane grew up in Eagan, where her parents instilled a strong entrepreneurial ethos. Her childhood was filled with outdoor adventures, hands-on work experiences in friends’ and family’s businesses, and a deep love for reading. In her twenties, she transferred from the University of Minnesota to Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School, finding more and richer wells of experience and education (and more sunshine).
During her ten years in Arizona, Joan played a pivotal role in launching various businesses, spanning from local eateries to entertainment venues. She transitioned from operational roles to focusing on financial management and accounting. Along the way, she met her husband, Jody, and together they decided to return to Minnesota.
Drawing on Jody’s expertise as a Journeyman turned Master Electrician, they established Kane Electric MN in 2021. Joan’s commitment to continuous learning led her to collaborate with tax firms, non-profits, and small business advisory firms, expanding her knowledge across diverse industries. Driven by a desire to support underserved small business owners, Joan founded BYOBookkeeper, offering services in bookkeeping, financial training, business formation, and funding connections.
BYOBookkeeper provides practical solutions, including monthly bookkeeping, QuickBooks cleanups, advisory consultations, and training programs, empowering entrepreneurs to manage their finances effectively. For more information, reach out to Joan at 218-552-5447 or visit www.BYOBookkeeper.org to learn how her expertise can benefit your business.
