National media spotlight on Minnesota’s dementia friendly efforts
Once again, the transformative ACTing on Alzheimer’s work in Minnesota has national attention. A US News and World Report article, A Quest to Become Dementia Friendly, gives a snapshot of the passion of MN communities striving to be dementia friendly and recognizes the multifaceted work as a springboard for Dementia Friendly America. Also, the Dementia Friends program is showcased in Changing the Way We Look at Dementia, published by Kaiser Health News and syndicated across other media outlets. Dementia Friends Minnesota is highlighted, including a plan for African-American, Hispanic, American Indian, West African and Hmong communities to make culturally sensitive adaptations to the Dementia Friends program.
