Member of the week: Walker American Legion “Spencer Ross” Post 134
Walker’s American Legion “Spencer-Ross” Post 134, so-named in reverence of two who were killed in action serving our country, recently voted by WCCO television to be the #1 Legion Post in Minnesota, is open to the public. The Post, located at 407 Front Street is open 7 days a week, offers a family-friendly venue for a wide variety of both private and public celebrations; also available are lunches and dinners from their kitchen along with a full-service bar.
The Spencer-Ross Post is actually a family of organizations consisting of the Post (over 400 members), the Auxiliary (nearly 200 members), and the Sons of the American Legion (nearly 200 members); also they host the American Legion Riders , the 40 & 8, and a first rate Honor Guard. The Post offers a wealth of on-going activities and entertainment, which in part, include karaoke, bingo, Texas Holdem tournaments, cribbage tournaments, and pull-tabs.
