Member Spotlight: Swanson’s Bait and Tackle

Swanson’s has been the local bait shop in Hackensack for generations.  Originally, known as Cline’s Minnows with its brightly painted rocks on the front of the store, it was then sold to the Swanson’s in 1970.  The business grew and they replaced the rock building with a new log structure in 1981.  In 1995, the Tuller’s purchased the business and expanded it to the current 6000 square foot structure featuring a full line of tackle, rods, reels, live bait and all your fishing needs along with the 2000 square foot gift shop focusing on local lake shirts and gifts.  The Garoutte’s purchased Swanson’s in 2017 and along with their two boys, look forward to keeping Swanson’s the long time traditional stop of many.  The store offer’s everything the weekend traveler or local year rounder may need, from gas to groceries, tackle and bait, to gifts and more.  We carry all the top brands: St. Croix, G-Loomis, 13 Fishing, HUK, Nomad, Clam, Striker, Yeti and much more.  The online business also offers a full line of St. Croix rods, many name brand reels, fishing and hunting clothing and much more.  Stop in the store and see just how much Swanson’s has to offer, talk to our friendly, knowledgeable fishing staff and for those who may be out of the area, be sure to check us out online at Swansonsbait.com.
