The Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce presents The Pilot Independent as the Member of The Week! Each week a new business will be featured as a “thank you” for being a part of our membership. The Pilot-Independent, your Hometown News Leader began its start in 1897as the Walker Pilot weekly newspaper.  Many changes have occurred during the last 119 years; including the addition of the Saturday, Co-Pilot publication, annual Source Book, annual Leech Lake Area Vacation Guide, plus many colorful special sections including new quarterly Girlfriends glossy magazine which is a collaborative effort of the sister-publications involving, Walker, Grand Rapids, Hibbing and Virginia.
