Member of the Week: Foothills Alpaca Farm

The Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce presents Foothills Alpaca Farm as the Member of The Week! Each week a new business will be featured as a “thank you” for being a part of our membership. Foothills Alpaca Farm was established in April, 2006 and began with a pregnant female and a juvenile female. Before having the animals moved from the farms we purchased them from, we lost the juvenile female to an allergic reaction to a vaccine. We then purchased a pregnant female and her 3 week old female cria. As to how our farm got its name, there are no mountains in Minnesota. Our farm borders the Foothills state forest.
