Ice conditions across Walker Bay and the Main Lake have improved to a consistent 18-24 inches or better. is being found now.  Snow depths still remain in the 6″ to to a foot or more in some areas making off road traffic limited.  Walker Bay snow conditions are considerably better with smaller snow depths and most 4 wheel drive or UTV vehicles are able to get around off of main plowed ice roads.

Main Lake – the perch bite has been very good as of late. The Snake Pits, Little Hardwoods and West Goose flats were all producers of a solid perch bite over the week and weekend. Morning and evening hours were best with jigging spoons tipped with a minnow head being most productive. Walleyes have been hit or miss with the best reports coming out of deeper water off the edge of breaklines in 18-20 fow.  A decent walleye bite has also been reported in the Submarine/Annex Reef area as well in 12-14ft.

Walker Bay – the Sand Point area was best again during the week for perch and walleye.  Depths varied but most consistent reports came from 12-14 feet of water along sand to weed transition areas.  A few eelpout are starting to show up along the Cedar Point area along the sharper breaklines in 20-35 feet of water. Actively jigging bright glow spoons with multiple minnows have been the best producers in the overnight hours.

We still have a few rentals available as we move towards the end of the season, especially during the weekdays.  Give us a call or send us a message to book your next ice fishing trip on Leech Lake!
