Countryside Food Co-op joins the Chamber
New Chamber Members: Countryside Food Co-op
Founded in 1978, Countryside Food Co-op, Inc. (CFC) provides low cost, high quality food items to area residents and donates their profits with neighboring communities and programs within a 20-mile radius of Hackensack. CFC is the only all-volunteer Co-op in Minnesota with over 120 volunteers. Members pay an annual fee of $5.00. Volunteer members pay 5% over cost while non-working members pay 10% over cost.
CFC’s loyal 2,800+ members enjoy a wide selection of spices, cheeses, dried fruits, non GMO, organic, gluten free, and other reasonably priced products. We pride ourselves on offering products you don’t usually find in other larger grocery stores.
While CFC supports various non-profit organizations, most of our donations go to food shelf programs in the communities of Akeley/Nevis, Hackensack, Longville, Pine River/Backus and Walker. These programs provide free food to area families in need. CFC has averaged over $12,500 each year to area food shelf programs the past five years.
Our store hours are Wednesday 10:00 to 5:00, Friday 1:00 to 5:00, and Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00. June through August we are open Monday from 1:00 to 5:00.
