Walker Company 3709 CCC camp developed Shingobee Hills in 1938, constructing a toboggan slide and three ski slides. The Shingobee Winter Playground Association, comprised of parents and businessmen living in the Walker area, operated the ski tow and the Chalet where coffee and lunches are served.
