 This year the “Great Gift Card Giveaway” was a roaring success.  We had 32 local businesses participating this year.  With each $10 purchase, you received 1 RED ticket.  We have 6 packages of gift cards ranging from $1000 to $320.  We have drawn names for the winners and by the time you read this article all prizes will have been awarded.  Those who held the winning numbers were:

Congratulations to all of you.  The best part of winning is that the prize is local gift cards – so the shopping local continues to roll.

This year the promotion ran for approximately 30 days and over 188,000 tickets were given out.  The grand total of money spent locally just at the stores offering red tickets is over $1, 880,000!  Way to go Walker on shopping local.  The Leech Lake Chamber of Commerce would like to thank you for shopping smart and shopping local!  The chamber ran a facebook contest asking how much money was sold at participating businesses during the promotion and the winner of $50 in chamber bucks is Lisa Bergsgaard with a guess of $1,834,330.  Congratulations.
